Welcome to second grade! Here is a little bit about me. I am originally from Schenectady, New York. I went to Iona College and earned a BA in Advertising Communications. After graduation I worked in New York City until the Fall of 2001. I then went to Sage Graduate School in Troy, NY and earned my dual masters in Childhood Education and Special Education in May 2006.

I moved to North Carolina about 7 years ago and met my wonderful husband 7 days later. Prior to being at Foxroad Magnet Elementary, I taught in both Nash and Wake County. In 2011 I earned my National Board Certification, which I am very proud of. This is my first year at Foxroad Magnet Elementary and I am excited to join a new school community.

Some of my favorite things to do are make handmade invitations, read, watch movies, garden, play and watch all sports and travel. I am a huge fan of the New York Jets and love to watch them every chance I get! I love my Great Danes (Duke (grey) and Duchess(brown) ) and my cat (Daisy).

Here are some other facts about me:

My birthday is October 13th

My favorite animal is a Moose.

My favorite flower is a Daisy.

My favorite colors are blue and pink.

My favorite subjects are Math and Science

My favorite stores are Target, Ann Taylor Loft, and

Hobby Lobby.

My favorite quote is KEYMAKER:

Some people see a closed door and turn away.

Others see a closed door, try the knob,

if it doesn’t open they turn away.

Still others see a closed door, try the knob,

if it doesn’t open, they find a key.

If the key doesn’t fit they turn away.

A rare few see a closed door, try the knob,

if it doesn’t open they find a key, if the key doesn’t fit…

They make one.
